maeve o'connell

hard working, motivated and adaptable, maeve o’connell approaches every project as an opportunity to collaborate with directors to bring the film alive using the image as a powerful story telling tool. maeve was born and raised in dublin, ireland. she achieved an honors degree in music and mathematics from trinity college dublin and then worked in theatre administration. this gave her a strong grounding in the visual arts. the artists and filmmakers she worked with there prompted her to follow her passion into filmmaking. she attended the filmbase training centre and then spent two years working in the irish film industry before relocating to london to further her training at the london film school where she specialized in cinematography. maeve has gained extensive experience in the camera and lighting departments from professional studio and location shooting across the world on almost 200 projects including music videos, documentaries, corporate, commercials and short films. her work as cinematographer has been screened on the BBC and at festivals including clermont-ferrand, bristol encounters, portobello, philadelphia, cork and jackson hole.
