maeve o’connell was born in dublin. she achieved an honours degree in music and mathematics from trinity college dublin and worked in theatre administration where the artists and filmmakers she met prompted her to follow her passion into filmmaking.

she spent two years working in the irish film industry before joining the london film school for further training where she specialised in cinematography with credits on over 50 projects in the camera and lighting departments.

since graduating in 2007, she has shot more than 20 music videos, documentaries, corporate, commercials and short films as cinematographer, and her work has been screened at many festivals including edinburgh, cork, jackson hole, la and tribeca.

maeve enjoys the process of collaborating with directors to bring the story alive by using the image as a powerful story telling tool. hard-working, motivated and adaptable, she approaches every project as an opportunity to learn and develop her craft.
